Ellen and Gini- So great to meet you and to party with you tonight. The NY party was well attended but a little lacking in energy. There were 3 LB's there....we could have used more LB's to kick things up a notch. You'll see what I mean in a sec. There were clutch contests, trivia quiz, raffles and clay videos from concerts and interviews which looped on a Big Screen and several TV screens placed all around the private room that was ours at Planet Hollywood. We LB's sat at a table with six other lovely Clay fans. The woman sitting on my right asked what Board we were with. When I told her we were with LBFCA she grinned popped up and down in her chair a little and said "I can't believe I'm sitting next to a Broad". That was really cool. Did I say they were lovely women? Even if I did, it bears repeating. When the Leno show came on it was streamed onto the Big Screen and the other TV's in the room. Ellen, Gini and I all agreed at this point that there was somehow not enough JUICE in the party. And then the coup de grace which proved us right was that most everyone got up at 10 of 12 to go to the Virgin Megastore next door to buy CD's. Huh? They didn't even wait for Clay to come out on Leno! The room emptied out except for about maybe 15 people. The waiters cleared up around us, eager to end their shift, but we weren't budging. Jay kept egging the Bird Lady on to do more and more calls. And I kept yelling at the screen "Enough with the Bird Lady! Get Clay's Bird out here!" What can I tell ya (shrugs), I know what's important. And then there he was. How? How does he keep getting hotter? Wouldn't an ordinary man self-combust from all that heat being generated? Our Lover was so LOOSE! I kept wondering if the Bird Lady had tended to him in some manner backstage for him to come out and be so freakin' gloriously LOOSE and joyul! And he danced! Real dancing. Fabulous, full body, sexy new moves. He seems to have made good friends with the mic stand at the Time photo shoot cause he was workin' that baby! I also, as someone else posted tonight, had the thought that Paula would be proud. He was magnificent. He had the remaining 15 of us partyers jumping and screaming loud enough to fill that entire room. And there at last was the ENERGY! When Leno was over, we walked next door and bought our CD's. In my hands at last. I can't wait to hear the reviews. I would be surprised if there were any truly bad ones because this album is good music and Clay shines. Watching Clay on Leno reminded me of the Beatles appearing on Ed Sullivan. The Music is back. I DO want to thank the organizers for putting tonight's party together. Back from the Indy release party!! So glad I went. It was just so nice to sit around and talk with a bunch of other people who "get it." I went with a few people I'd met at the PRoC (and elsewhere). However, there must have been at least on Broad in the house, because what was playing on the TV but TONY'S DVDs!!!! OK, who was it? Which one of you lurking Broads? Thanks to Kelly for all of her work on the party. Thanks to Barnes and Noble. Sorry to the few people in the B&N cafe who were trying to study or read and were suddenly overwhelmed with rowdy Clay fans. OK, back to listening to the CD. Or should I watch Leno again. Maybe I should go back to trying to download the Jojo interview. (In mid-download the first time, my computer froze. Grrrr. Normally, this would make me VERY upset. Not so much tonight. If not tonight, I'll get it tomorrow. Lalalala The world's a happy place.) Yes, I made it until tonight. I was a virgin to many of these songs. And yes, it was well worth it!! The last 45 minutes of the drive home it was just me and Clay in the car. Holy crap!! Construction zone. Must concentrate on road. Dang! OMG,OMG,OMG!!! WHAT HAS THIS MAN DONE TO US??? Every time a new Clay appearance approaches, I rewatch everything from MDA telethon thru the present. This usually gets me ready for a new experience. However, nothing could have prepared me for tonight!!! Clay is no longer just a fabulous singer, tonight he became sensational entertainer. His attitude, sound, dancing etc. have made him a complete package, oh oh it's only Tuesday. Did anyone else notice the lack of white tshirt?? Is someone new dressing HRH, the jacket was almost fitted in the back?? It is now nearly 3AM and I am not one bit sleepy, but I am afraid RL and morning will raise its ugly head soon enough. Best. Performance. EVER! I am nearly speechless (yeah--nearly). Had to "come out" to say it's just so amazing how we've all experienced this day in different ways, yet for the same reason. I wanted to share my day, as a tribute to Clayton, as a way to commemorate this magnificent day... I was lucky enough to have a private, B.A.H release party (and, by the way, I was a MOAM virgin until about 12:45 AM CDT...so yessss--RELEASE!!)with my two mini-broads and JoJo, Leno, and, of course, Clayton. I am still stunned by tonight's performance...where have you been, dancin' Clayton?? Never again must you say the dancing was a mistake. He looked so, so, mature, so transformed. The transformation from AI2 is complete, fo shizzle! Oh to be the mike, the chair, the new shirt (did anyone see an undershirt?). Anything. Left the house at 11:50 PM. Made my way to WalMart only to bump into many 20-somethings happily clutching--what is that?? A DVD?? Clayton--you didn't tell me there would be a DVD! What?? The Matrix Reloaded?! WTF! Who cares? I saw that already...but maybe I'll pick one up for Mr. Lurkin' to keep him busy while I'm busy with Clayton. I made my way back to electronics only to see several broadly-somethings looking kind of pissed off. What?? What do you mean you can't find them!! "No--she can't. And the WalMart on 121st said they'd be selling them at EXACTLY midnight but their power is out!" (BTW--This is the same storm that prompted the local NBC channel to interrupt the intro and first few bars of Invizzle to show us the friggin' radar (they're on the hit list for tomorrow). Don't they understand that NOTHING--tornado,ha!--could deter a broad from Clayton?? Sensing trouble, I saw one Ruben-sized guy reaching for the security button. Cops in riot gear--forget it! We want Clayton!! I called Mr. Lurkin' on the phone to get the phone numbers for Target, etc. and as I was hanging up I heard the most amazing words "Would the broa--I mean, customers looking for the Clay Aiken CD please return to electronics!" You betcha! I lost my virginity for a mere $9.84! Sam Walton is my savior. Cindy in WA--I so agree with you. Clayton is such a little liar! A tease! If The Way is not about S-E-X. Come on!! Okay, I have so many things to say and am so tired but briefly here they are: CNN was at our Atlanta party!!!! They interviewed Erin and Joe!!! And Joe even sang a line of Invisible for them!!! I also got interviewed by them but so did a lot of other people. The party was great...there were about 200 people there! Lots of games and prizes, including an autographed Rolling Stone and ET. Robin, Erin and I did karoke! I can't believe they got me up there! I love to sing but I'm so horrible....but it was so much fun! And Rock Star Joe performed too....he was so funny!!! And guess who the top two acts were? Joe and us....the LECHEROUS BROADS!I couldn't believe it! There was a great article in today's Altanta Journal....front page of the Living section, with a huge Clay photo from the concert here. Erin and Robin talked to the AJC reporter tonight at the party so maybe they'll be in the next article. Oh my gosh I thought I would die watching Clay tonight on Leno....he was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!! Just FLOATED in from the Atlanta CD Release Party!!!! No words can describe the fun we had! CNN Headline News was there and they interviewed Erin and Rock Star Joe and Amber while I tried to pry my head in the camera!…then The Atlanta Journal interviewed me, Erin and Joe!!!!!!!!!!!! Fox 5 was there and we jumped around all giddy for them as we stood in line to buy our CD‘s!! Not sure who will actually get where but the Broads were in the shizz’ouse and we were REPRESENT’N!!!! We played games and I won a CD and a Clay tote bag!!! THEN…we played a karaoke version of AI and me, Erin and Amber came in second with our rendition of Sugar Pie Honey Bunch (the judges said we were AWSOME!!! And WE WERE!) …beat’n out by ROCK STAR TO THE BROAD’S JOE doing a sexy version of Grease!!!! We weren’t mad though…we know what second place will get ya!!!! It was the best ding dang night of my life! We met so many people (Ga. Kim and Betty and Amy to name a few)and a few even recognized US from the PP’s and some even wanted our pictures!!!! Is that cool or what! I am just freaking giddy! Leno reception was a bit fuzzy…the only complaint I had all night…but I sure caught an EF and a few deep knee bends! And was that ‘mah Nelle I heard screaming in the background! I was right there with you honey!!! He was ULTRA COOL! He rocked the foundation of that studio…and the world will never be the same!
