Julie "...sexy without being dirty..." says it all for me. How does he so totally pull that off? Guess the best example is 'Invisible' -- he didn't grab his crotch -- but he sure knew how to make us want to!! It's just like the old movies. They knew how to throw in the sexual tension, but left the details to our imagination. There's nothing left to the imagination in movies or music today. And if there is anything that's proven on the PP's, it is that our imaginations are alive and well and looking for somewhere to work out!!
And speaking of 'work out', I hope y'all have a great one on the dance floor tonight!! I've been voting all day trying to do my share to give you something to celebrate. Down with the skanks!!! Indeed.
Grease Clayton, if you ever read these boards, you've got to know that your instincts were right to begin with -- shaky hips and red jacket bring more than two thumbs up around here!!
Sis You are so right about song choices. It seems RCA had several much better options for first release. Makes you wonder what they are thinking/doing. Then again, makes us all so much more excited about the CD release, and gives opportunity for 'one-right-after-the-other' number one hits!
Susan in SC Please know that my heart is with you as you worry about your Daddy. May God bless him with a quick recovery.

I’ve been deep in the depths of lurkdom for weeks, but I just had to emerge to, um, squeal! That interview just plain warmed my cockles. Yes, there was tons cut out, and it wasn’t a very clean edit, either. There’s uneven room tone all over that thing. I suspect that it was recut shortly before airing to make room for one of the other pieces. Hopefully that extra footage will make it to air eventually. (When he announces the solo tour?)
“This is between Clayton and me . . . man to man. He knows where to find me.” Bloody cowboy. What a boorish brute.
Oh, but that interview. I just watched it again, zaprudering all the best bits (OK, all the bits). If you play it in extreme slo-mo, it’s just amazing how many different expressions he can wear on his face. His face does not sit still! Even without the sound, the face is easily as fascinating to witness as the voice. And there’s that amazing relaxed jawline and mouth — that’s a yoga face. And that goes just loverly with his twisty yoga body. I’d love to practise yoga with him. Ohhhhhhmmmmm!
Won’t listen to any more of the songs until Tuesday, even if it kills me. I have read a lot of the lyrics and those alone have left me a complete puddle of goo. I want to get enough CDs so that I can lay down on the bed and cover myself with them while I writhe in aural esctasy . . .
Hope you’re all doing great! *waves to virtual buds* I’ve been loving the MPs and PPs in my own quiet way. Enjoy your CD release parties, champagne room blowouts and the whole rest of The Autumn of Clay. (And to fellow Canucks, Happy Turkey Day!)

I am incapable of making an intelligent, lecherous, or other comment at this time. I don't know what PTL did to me but I hope to recover enough to make sense of it. In the meantime, I am thoroughly enjoying the sharing on the PPs.
Here's a link which leads to more new songs which I haven't seen listed here but may have missed in my mental fog. Scroll down to the link for "The Songs." It includes Perfect Day and Shine.

I am a puddle of gooo after watching last night's PTL. Just when I thought I couldn't fall for him any deeper, he just goes out and does it again.... gaaaahh!!
I agree with those of you who've expressed their opinion about the Grease episode. I absolutely LOVE everything about that performance! This whole "when bad fashion happens to good people" crap just got me all ticked off. At that point in time in AI, it was exactly what he needed to do, and he pulled it off (oohhhh) like the true star he is. There, nuff said!
OK, I'm just now getting off work, and I'm in a mad rush to get home and download TOUCH. I read the lyrics and OMG!!! I hope I don't melt before I get to the car cuz I need to get me some of that SEX ON A STICK! No, more like SEX ON A SIX FOOT POLE! Dayum....
I'll see you at the Dance Party tonight. Cella, hold my spot inside the Champagne Room, will ya?

Tanya My prayers are with you too. Rest up and do everything the doctor tell you! My own prescription: take 2 Sugarpants and call me in the morning. The first time I watched the PTL interview, I was blown away. He is so totally together. I adored the way he so firmly (breathe, Carol) told Diane that "my father is Ray Parker." And I was a little stunned to see how much he resembles SD in physical appearance (clearly in nothing else that's really important). I have watched the tape several times since, though and it looks like a chop job to me. Yes, I know they cut the rose, and "Moon River," but more than that, when DS asked him what hurt him most (ref SD) and he responded that his indifference was the most painful thing, his very next sentence was about SD being a racist. Clearly there was at least one other question asked somewhere in there (probably more), so the seque was jarring, to say the least. The bottom line, though, is that Studly shines like a diamond in everything he does. He's self-deprecating, while being self-assured. Vulnerable while putting up whatever defenses he needs. There's that old dichotomy thing again. And I particularly loved it when he said he felt it was time for someone who wasn't gay and didn't womanize to stand up and be counted. Bravo, Buttercup! Myself, I never questioned his sexual orientation. No man can inspire that much lust in women and not be straight. And he handled this issue before AI, if I heard what he said correctly. And I tend to believe that he is a virgin. After all, he's the one who implied it in RS. If he was gonna lie about something, wouldn't he lie and say he'd had at least one experience? Speaking of lies..... can't remember who posted it, but I know it was one of our more lucid and insightful Broads. Oh yeah. He fibs bigtime. Every song he sings is about sex, in my book. But the sex he sings about is relationship-based (not necessarily marriage), giving it a "purer" take. I can live with that. I'm sick of hearing graphic lyrics that embarass even me (and believe me, I don't embarass all that easily. Been around the block a few too many times for that). Give me love/lust anytime, Clayton (and I mean that literally! E-mail me for directions to the house). My friend at work has heard Studly only on AI2 or the cds I've brought in and doesn't think he's "pop star" material. But I've now downloaded "Touch," "Measure of a Man," "The Way," "Run to Me," (I've got my sneakers on and I'm on my way darlin' ~ I've got that feeling!) and the others and IMHO this boy has a hit cd on his hands. He sounds enough like what they're playing on the stations to get the radio play he deserves, but, thankfully, still sounds like the Clayton we know and love. He'd hit platinum without us! And I can't wait to play them for my friend who thinks he's only Broadway material (well, she's 1/2 right ~ he's definitely Broad material!). I do so love feeding crow! Merry Miss you guurrl! RL has been taking its toll on me too and I haven't been getting the computer time I so desperaately need. But I haven't forgotten you, I promise. Clayton I stand with the other Broads ~ I thought you looked adorabel in that red jacket and I gotta tell you, that hip shake sure did it for me. Clearly that was a baby step, leading to those gorgeous bumps and grinds you treated us to on tour. Please, don't stop believing in yourself and doing what you know is right for you, because it turns out it's right for us too!!! OMGHSFGICB!

First - I have been Missing all you Broads! During the Crash of 10/9/03 (Is anyone surprised I could access virtually NO Clay related site last night before the PT interview?! In addition, I had written brilliant and witty responses to many of your posts on the 8th, was nearly through wordprocessing it before adding html and pasting into guestbook when I stretched my leg and hit the APC back unit with my foot and blipped the power! I lost all my lovely prose and intelligent comments! So - I took a break from Computerland and took myself downstairs to watch OMC without interruption or distraction. Before my views on PTL . . .
T-Lady - Went through the gall bladder experience year before last. I can’t tell you how much better I have felt since! I thought I had indigestion all these years - couldn’t really enjoy dinners out at nice restaurants, all that rich food and I started to feel awful after 5 or 6 bites. But, on this particular day, I was doubled over and it wouldn’t quit. Had to wait from Thursday til Monday for the surgery! Aghhhhhh!
All worth it, though. I can now go out with my hubby and enjoy a fabulous dinner at a fabulous restaurant. Life is good! I hope all goes as well with you as it did for me!
Melissa! Gurrl, I had my copy of Time with me today! I didn’t even show it to anybody! I had it in my bag all day, just tucked in there waiting for me! I had a DR.’s appt today (Broads, please go get all your beautiful parts checked out!! Triangles and circles need TLC for a Broad to be well in order to make it to the First Ever Clay Tour!) and while I was waiting, I pulled my waiting gift right out of that bag and gave Clayton some air! That almost made up for the stirrups! (NOT!)
Annie - Wonderful!
Loved Loved Loved the Imperfections! And Speechless!
Raleighgurl - thanks for Bouncing Clay! I laughed out loud!
Molly - if you are crazy, honey, just join the crowd! And yes, you are a cute freak! (Hey, didn’t you hear Clay refer to himself last night as a Freak Show?!)
Greensboro, NC Broads? Anyone? We need more coming to the party Oct. 14, 5-9pm, Borders Thruway Shopping Center, W-S. Cindy Farmer of Fox8 is coming!
Nelle, I just watched my tape of the show again before I came up to seek the pp’s. Not only did I love that he corrected her about his Dad. I loved the expression on his face before he spoke. He almost looked shocked, then puzzled, almost bristled then asked Diane, “My Dad?” Raised those eyebrows and then made the definitive statement, “My Dad is Ray Parker!” Can you believe the “statement” issued by vg, again making it his son’s responsibility to seek him out?! He may have stopped drinking but he obviously hasn’t grown a heart!
OK, PTL. Like the rest of you, I LOVE that kid/MAN! That’s all I’m going to say - you have expressed it beautifully - except that Clay was and is - Luminous!

Excellent news Tanya...although it just gives you more time to worry, doesn't it? (that's the way I always react when I get news like that...somehow I just have to ruin it for myself!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Broke down and downloaded TOUCH. Haven't been downloading anything because I wanted to experience the album as a whole, but after reading those words today...to steal some brilliance from Missing Broad Ashke, CRIKEY! I had to have him...it...now.
Holy cow, this is gonna be a great album. And I don't think I'm being biased at all...my bias causes me to love his voice and get all gushy thinking about him singing the songs to *me*...but my extremely critical self (I've been keeping her under wraps quite a bit lately...let's just say I'm not liking most of the pictures that magazines are printing of him lately...except the one with his wittle tootsie-toes! GAH!), which is particularly harsh when it comes to music, is very happy right now.
Part of me was afraid...a little...that when they put together a "pop" album they might go a bit brainless on us. I shouldn't have worried, because Clayton is too smart for that. Sure, he's keeping it clean (although keeping *me* clean is going to be another matter altogether!), but he also seems to be keeping it on the smarter side...occasional grammatical mishaps aside. (oh sure, darlin', quibble over "making love" but go ahead and keep on saying "if I WUZ invisible" over and over! teehee)
Julie is happy, very very happy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My local station, who apparently played Invizzle the other day, but I missed it, said today that Monday is CLAY AIKEN DAY on KKMJ (Majic 95.5 in Austin), and they're giving away a copy of MoaM per hour all day! That is just...wow. I can't remember the last time I heard of a promotion like that! Now this may very well be the only station in Austin that gives him any love (pretentious bungholes), but I gotta say I'm impressed!
Hopefully we'll have reps from the station at the CD party and I can find out if that was an RCA deal or if they came up with it themselves, because it's awfully nice of them if they did! And I can't wait to see if Clay Aiken Day means they'll play him a lot on Monday...ooooooh Monday's gonna be nice, I can just feel it... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STILL TIME TO VOTE FOR INVISIBLE AT JOJO'S TOP 9 @ 9... LET'S KNOCK THOSE SKANKS OFF THE #1 SPOT!!

Lila and Annie I am with you on the PTL interview. Too tabloid too brief. We know they have much more footage, so I nicely e-mailed PTL and asked if they would please put more of the interview up on their website. Probably won't happen, but a girl has to try...Clay looked gorgeous as ever. Those magnificent green eyes - yummy. BTW my daughter saw a piece on Elvis right before PTL, about his early days and rise to fame. She told me many people thought Elvis was effeminate when he started out. Then he grew long side burns and wore lots of leather. Clay is determined to be true to himself and won't take that route, but he will have to tolerate the questions about his gender preference. I think he has turned all of his relationships with girls into platonic ones because he is afraid of the pain and rejection that comes with love relationships - maybe I'm crazy but it makes sense when you look at his life. He amazes me with his maturity and grace everytime he opens his mouth.Love him. Read the People article - Clay is getting a little snarky with the music biz and the life. He really believes that it is all going to fade and he will be back teaching. Hope he keeps singing cause we need him badly!!!!
